“Biografías” book series
Client: El Colegio Nacional --- Book series design. The books in this series are biographical essays featuring each member of El Colegio Nacional (a Mexican honorary academy) since its inception in 1943. The page design proposal was intended to convey both a degree of visual cohesion and a structure flexible enough to accommodate many different ways of arranging the content, given the plurality of authoring styles and subjects to come. For the covers, a four color palette was chosen to better distinguish each academic field researched in El Colegio: social sciences and the humanities; arts and literature; exact sciences; and life sciences and medicine. (The following pictures are mockups, soon to be replaced by final photos.)
